The Effect of an Anxiety-Coping Program for Children Based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on 4th Graders’ Anxiety Levels

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects an anxiety-coping program for children based on cognitive behavioral therapy children’s anxiety levels. conducted with 12 students in fourth grade primary school. Screen Child Anxiety Related Disorders (SCARED) during data collection. Students experimental group participated a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy coping consisting eight sessions. No control group. A mixed design 2x3 used study. Follow-up measurement performed six months after completed. In analysis data, Mann Whitney U test and Friedman were used. As result analysis, significant decrease observed general anxiety, disorder, separation social levels participants experiment intervention which continued follow-up period. Furthermore there no statistically panic disorder/somatic symptoms school phobia findings indicated that is effective terms decreasing children.
